Trace It - Spelling Game

Materials

• Spelling list
• Words from spelling list printed out (I recommend using a large, bold font)

Instructions

This activity builds fluency and accuracy in writing your spelling words, and is also a way to integrate math with your spelling work!

1. Type your spelling words, using a font that models good handwriting.
2. Print the words you typed.
3. Trace over the words using a colored pencil.

Variation

If you don’t have access to a printer or if you’ve already spent too much time in front of a screen, find your spelling words in a book. When you’ve found your spelling word, trace it.
